I love watching brides strut their stuff in their dresses. Your wedding day is easily the day you feel you could take Beyonce on the catwalk because girl you are fiiiiinnneeee and everybody knows it! So naturally, that’s a pretty big decision for brides. I don’t know about you, but shopping days can go downhill quick if I feel like I’m trying to stuff myself into a sausage casing (can I get an amen!), and the last thing you want is to feel that way on dress shopping day. Girl, we gotchu! We teamed up again with fitness coach, Sandra Cauley, and she’s ready to help you bring out your inner Queen B while you frolic to dress shops!
One of the most exciting parts about planning your wedding is shopping for your dress! Such a sweet memory! BUT if you feel yucky then it’s definitely not as fun. So let’s talk about foods to avoid that cause bloating when wedding dress shopping, or when you’re headed into your fittings:
1. Artificial sweeteners
2. High sodium foods like bacon, pizza, soups, and Asian and Mexican cuisine.
3. Lentils, legumes, broccoli, and garlic -although incredibly good for you, these can cause temporary bloating when working through the GI tract.
Think of this day as a marathon not a sprint; eat slow burning, high quality foods.
Choose protein for breakfast! Greek yogurt with some cinnamon and a banana or pineapple is a great option (along with a piece of whole grain toast if you need a bigger breakfast like me)!
Bring your superfood shake, banana, almonds or pistachios (unsalted) to snack on throughout the day. Definitely don’t not eat–a headache (or good old fashion pass out) will make the day way less celebratory.
When you and the girls head out for lunch, low sodium meals that include cucumbers, zucchini, avocados, or asparagus are great options to keep your tummy in check.
As always drink water, water, water (and you have to cheers with a glass of champagne)!
Happy shopping, my dear!
Xo,
Sandra
