I’ve been thinking about how to put Carolyn and Sebastian’s day into words, because it was such a special wedding at the Historic Dekalb Courthouse! Carolyn and Sebastian are yell it with me IN LUUUUHHHVVVEEEE. Like nose burns, lots of tears in the eyes, all the romance kind of love. When I asked them what they appreciate about each other, they both mentioned how well the other loves them. I could’ve guessed that! I also wanted to share a little of their perspective from the wedding day.
Carolyn said, “Everything about that day was an absolute dream! I think that overall, my favorite part about that day (besides marrying the man of my dreams, of course), was seeing all of our family and friends from near and far all there together, supporting and celebrating Sebastian and I, and our love for one another. We come from totally different backgrounds (Sebastian and his family moved here from Colombia 15 years ago), so between my mom delivering an entire speech perfectly in Spanish which, mind you, she doesn’t speak Spanish, to seeing all of our families and friends blending together having fun laughing and salsa dancing the night away with each other, was a truly a special & magical part of that day. “
And Sebastian, “As hard as it is to narrow it down, I think the moments were everybody gave their speeches was very special. I think everyone in the room got a feel of the caliber of people that our family is, and the great love and respect we have for each other as a family. “ I have to agree with both of them. Garrett and I looked at each other multiple times in awe of these families. There was something so memorable watching two cultures collide in such a beautiful way. It gave me hope as a human to see such a stunning display of the unity love can create.
