Max Patch Engagement | Savannah + Travis

Welp, I can finally cross off this bucket list location. Max Patch, you are EVERYTHING. A torrential downpour happened the entire hour leading up to our session, but the sun made its debut just in time. Clouds hovered over the rolling hills in front of us making Savannah and Travis’ Max Patch engagement session magical. It was breathtaking! When Savannah and Travis agreed to meet me all the way in North Carolina from Birmingham, I was IN FOR IT. This Max Patch engagement was everything I dreamed of and so much more! It sure didn’t hurt that these two beautiful humans were the ones frolicking.

Savannah is the sweetest southern belle you’ve ever met, and just as beautiful on the inside as she is out! I’m so thankful to document this season for her and Travis. They’re already celebrating marital bliss, and I know going to have the best life together!

If you are planning a destination shoot, here are a few tips to keep in mind:

Be sure to check for restrictions or necessary permits.
Consider how easily accessible the location is and prep for it. Will you need to bring shoes to hike? Is it accessible by car? Will it be crowded?
Ask your photographer if the light is better in the morning or the evening, and be willing to rise and shine. Especially for mountainous locations, an early morning session might offer much better, what we call, back light.
Flexibility is key! Natural elements are unpredictable, so don’t be afraid of wind, rain, or any other gifts from Mother Nature!
